Everyone denies they're involved with Konami. There is no CONFIRMED proven-extra-story-content available (except trailer snippets, which were made for a reason besides just being in the trailers!!). You just have to understand the story to know it holds relevance.

HERE'S HOW I THINK IT WORKS:

Information is being controlled, people in the chat are employees from a ("private company") Viral Marketing Team, their job is divised in the following roles:

  • Good "chatters" (Ishmael?): give good clues and hints and are generally nice to you. (these people may be working in shifts, so there'll be times when you can't make any progress)

  • Bad "chatters" (the Patriots?): demotivate you to continue searching for information and are rude to you

  • Red Herrings: are to distract you and say meaningless stuff ("A red herring is something that misleads or distracts from a relevant or important issue.")

How the system works:

  • It's programmed with an endless discussion similar to what we've all seen on GameFaqs, Reddit, Neogaf, Kotaku, Twitter, Youtube. Gathered years in advance. Every once in awhile, the chat will just ignore you and keep argueing over meaningless stuff. You could probably prevent/stop this by stating INGAME FACTS or ARG RELATED FACTS (like who's IP belongs to what site, and whether or not INGSOC.ORG is fake or not).

  • The more people actively trying to figure things out, the harder it becomes distinguishing who's in on it and who's not. (I've kept up with names, however, they can be changed). Even still, more people means more tools, skills and knowledge.

  • Whenever "An error ocurred"-red text shows (intentional typo, this is a glitch?), it holds significance, I think it points you in the right direction, but I haven't been rewarded with any of my crazy ideas, HOWEVER... it might depend on what timezone it is and "whos's in charge" of the Chat for it to be actually helpful. This is related to SIX_OCLOCK, BIGBROTHER and KOJIMALIVES.

WHO IS "IN" ON IT?
