Curse of the Spawn Book Club - Issues 16 | 17 | 18 - Sept. 20th, 2015 - Sept. 26th, 2015

Half of what I learned in life, I learned from Curse of the Spawn Book Club.

The other half I learned from watching out for spoilers and grabbing the .cbr's down below.

Let us know what you thought of this weeks reading in the comments!

Knowledge is power, and all that.

What we're reading this week:

Issue 16 - Sympathy for an Angel: Part 2

• Abdiel has been undercover in Hell for six months. He is put in charge of gathering provisions for the welcoming of Al Simmons. He is told by Angel General Cheriour that the time to attack the Malebolgia is near. After being scorned by friends at Poacher's bar, he returns to Hell. During the arrival of Al Simmons, Abdiel is just about to attack Malebolgia when he is summoned back by Cheriour. Infuriated, he asks God if he is doing His will. With a resounding "NO" from God, he is cast into Hell, set up by the Malebolgia.

Issue 17 - Twist of Fate

• Mafia boss Twistelli experiences several hits. The first bomb, strapped to a small boy, killed several of Twistelli's friends at a wedding; an anti-aircraft gun destroyed the money laundering warehouse, the cell phone cloning operation and a restaurant. Twistelli calls the mob to find out who is after him and why no one will get involved. Jason Wynn gives Twistelli the news: he abused Overt-Kill, a prized plaything of an Italian godfather. Twistelli becomes a very dangerous man.

Issue 18 - Last Rites

• Tony Twist learns about the people who destroyed his businesses and are after him. He then learns from a priest that the Vatican Secret Police are looking for someone in the Twistelli organization and will stop at nothing until they find him. The VSP is looking for someone who belongs to the ancient and ex-communicated order of the Knights of Templar. A man who has been sent to find and convert Spawn, the obsessive religious fanatic called The Curse.
