Why don't third party keyboards launch by default in stock apps?
I use fleksy, having just come android. It's not impossible typing without it, but I just prefer it. Is there anyway to change this feature.

Actually, you can do this in the Keyboard settings. When you're looking at the list of all installed keyboards (in Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards), tap "Edit" in the upper-right and then grab the third-party keyboard and position it at the top of the list.
This way, the first keyboard to appear will be the third-party keyboard, regardless of the app.
And if you want to use Fleksy all of the time, you can remove the stock keyboard from this same menu. I've just done this with SwiftKey and I've not seen the stock keyboard since. Absolute life saver.
