Requesting help for unstable connection with PS4 Remoteplay on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.

Hello. I recently setup my tablet with the android remoteplay app and Sixaxis for my DS4. Unfortunately, I get repeated disconnects when I try to play it within 30 seconds. PS4 is LAN connected with direct connect turned off. I have tried normal wifi band on my tablet and the 5Ghz one. The 5ghz one has smoother streaming but drops quicker while my regular one is a bit more choppy but stays connected a little longer. This is with me 5 feet from my router. Have a newer Ubee modem/router two-in-one for my interwebs. I have also tried changing wifi channels with no discernible improvement. Speed tests at about 20 down/7 up on the wifi.

Any suggestions?

Is your DS4 wired or bluetooth? I did have some connection issues while wireless, and switching to wired seemed to fix it, could be a coincidence.

I have the Tab S 10.5, with an OTG cable to the DS4, connected to 5GHZ about 25 feet away from the access point and never have issues.

From what I can tell your router may be the problem. If you are dropping signal 5 feet away on 5GHZ, something is wrong.

5GHZ - Stronger signal, shorter range 2.4GHZ - Weaker signal, longer range

Download an app called Wifi Analyzer, check for any rogue APs or interference, this will help you pick the right channel.

My DS4 is bluetooth. I will try the cable to see if it fixes it. I dont think it is my router since its fairly new and nothing else has issues on it as far as streaming content goes. We have a few Chromecasts on tvs and none have issues. I used a wifi program to see if maybe my channel was congested but it wasnt. Tried a new one anyways and it didnt change anything. I wondered if it is the bluetooth controller but couldnt see how it related to my internet connection.

After an other redditor which name I can't recall posted that some apps do cause lag (such as tasker) I did a couple of test and items like stream receiver (chromecast/roku/firetv) and not having the wifi connection as priority (on top of the wifi connection list) can cause some lag due to the equipment scanning or looking for better connections (top connections) , Also it seems all controllers will tend to experience lag if you have other bluetooth gear around, I notice when my wife was using my headphones (bluetooth) & my daughter was "synced" to our gopro my DS4 went to hell due to my phone trying to connect to the headphones and camera :(

Suggestion try and use the OTG or normal USB cable for short times or reduce the amount of bluetooth gear around the PS4/table/smartphone? EDIT - I mean keeping them close not going all Faraday Cage to reduce noise

Thanks for the tips. I will look into my router settings to see if I can prioritize my tablet somehow. My controller isnt really having any issues though, its just my connection with shareplay dropping in less than 30 seconds.

Oh... then check you tablet on the wifi settings there should be a way to prioritize connections
