My theory on Yellow Bar Codes and how it might relate DIRECTLY to the Portopia Puzzle. (URGENT READ!)
Please, do also refer to the following threads as these might be EXTREMELY solid leads to follow:
=====HUGE UPDATE #1: ======== I got this from the Skulls Parasite Suit barcode code: Listen, if it's a EAN-8 Code, it means that the Parasite Suit on the Skulls is wrong or fake, EAN-8 takes only 7 digits and it generates the last one...Guess what: It will generate you a 3 instead of a 2. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THAT IT IS 3450 7772! The real code is 3450 7773! It could be a different type of code and i might be wrong but i don't think i am, as it is UNDOUBTEDLY an EAN-8 type of code. If you place that into a bar code decoder it gives you:
33 34 35 30 37 37 37 33 0
^ Somebody check that in the Portopia files, or figure what to do with it. This code might be meaningless as it is an easy code, unlike the yellow barcodes which are postal codes!
======UPDATE #2============
Update #2: There has to be a way to extract or reproduce the Yellow Barcodes in a clean, still manner! There MUST be textures or something we can datamine or decode in order to get the clean files. With the Pashtu writings, we were able to!. It'll either give us:
-
Hex codes.
-
Letters. If you google Japan-Post type of barcodes, they have LETTERS beneath them!
======END OF UPDATES========
Theory:
When you decode a bar code image (Any sort of bar code really) It'll give you Hex codes. The messages we've found in Portopia are found in specific lines of Hex Code when people have opened the files.
Perhaps it is possible that both Portopia and Yellow Bar Codes are related?
On my previous topic, i pointed out that the Yellow Bar Codes might relate to one of those patterns-- Most likely, the Japan Post type of Bar Code.
Decoding bar codes of any sort with any online decoder will give you Hex lines, which COULD be used for searching Hex Codes inside the Portopia files, which could lead to a hidden message WITHIN Portopia. Otherwise, searching for specific lines of code within the Portopia files would take a lot of time. It's just now that we found the Vol. 3 and LET references, so our interest is revived and we must NOT lose focus. Portopia is the puzzle, we just need the pieces, and i think these yellow Japan-Post-Type of barcodes are part of the puzzle.
How are the bar codes generated anyways? Textures? Or is it a light effect? If we go to the source of it we might be able to reproduce them. There might be a way to make them be still in-game, but there also might be away to get them in their original form through datamining or something!
To prove this, we need to solve/do the following:
-
Solve some bar codes like the one in the Skulls suit, it appears to be coded in EAN-Type Barcode. That one could be an easy one. It'll give us some hex code. But i need someone to go dig in the Portopia files, see if it throws anything. I got this from the Skulls code: Listen, if it's a EAN-8 Code, it means that the Parasite Suit on the Skulls is wrong or fake, EAN-8 takes only 7 digits and it generates the last one...Guess what: It will generate you a 3 instead of a 2. The real code is 3450 7773!
-
Find a way to make the yellow barcodes be still on-screen. Perhaps try zooming in them anyone? I can't do that right now, somebody please try it. Also try using the Konami Code when they pop up. Play with them. I'm sure Kojima didn't allow us to zoom just because.
-
IF we get the Yellow Bar codes to keep still, we can run them through an online decoder in order to get Hex lines, and search those specific hex lines in the Portopia files.
There also has to be a way to play the Portopia game, as somebody suggested. The PT numbers probably have to do with it if we ever get to put the puzzle up and play the romhacked version.
