Breakdown Analysis of Grizwald Anderson vs. the SeaBears (27 Triple-Downs, 14 Carmacks)
Today I am breaking down the potential HOFer Grizwald Anderson, and his Wednesday night matchup vs the Nigerian SeaBears.
Field conditions were expected to deteriorate over the course of the match, but as you can see from these aerial submarine images taken in the 2nd trimester, the conditions were flawless.
Leading up to this week's Wednesday matchup, the fantasy pundits were skeptical that Grizwald would even play in this game. A PCL tear in his left bicep was still healing after last year's Grandslam showdown. Most of us were just happy he came out of the coma.
1st Inning
The SeaBears started in a 11-man Mid Slant formation. Grizwald lined up opposite of DeAndre Miller. Griz will be playing a Side-Out Max Zone defense.
DeAndre Miller ends up running a Double Horns Mid Slant after an audible from Frank Ogeltree.
In order for Griz to square his hips and swing properly at full capacity, he'll need to exercise the "1 Arm Is Longer than 2" theory. What we know from Grizwald's tendencies is that his hop-jump defensive slants are usually reactionary. We saw that VERY clearly in the grandslam in 2014 against Ricardo Gonzalez.

GIF We can see that Griz gets the first contact and ends up pulling off the line with fantastic euro-step speed.
This is exactly what makes Griz the best iron-back in the league. A fantastic adjustment at the foul line gives him his first and third Carmack of the evening.
5th Trimester
In the 5th Trimester, we'll take a close look at the Off-Sides Back Door series. In this first image we can see Griz (#2) take the back door for the off-sides swinger.
Ok, now here's where the real genius comes in. We all know that Griz prefers the back door on this off-sides swinger play. Coach Bansberry (known for his aggressive play calls) went for a midfield package that allows for defending against back-door muck shots, or even sandbaggers. Amazingly Griz see's something in the formation, and adjusts accordingly. Let's look at last years semi-finals vs this game against the SeaBears.
It's amazing what 1 year and a lot of film study can do.
2 Minute Criss-Cross
For the last section of this breakdown, I'd like to focus on the triple-down flex hook in the last 2 minutes of the OT. What you're about to see is truly GOAT material. This will surely be taken into consideration on his first ballot to the HOF.
So far this year Griz has allowed a 0% runback rate on 48^/16ths of his flex hooks. This is best in the league by 25%!
- GIF Take note of Grizwald's left shoulder swing form. This is texbook. If you want to learn anything about anything, just look at that form. Call me oldschool but I was never partial to Hingle McCringleberry's swingback.

I'd like to point out that despite the 14 Errors that were called by the side-judge in this game, they still somehow missed a 15 yard Netting Violation.
