Why? If they change anything it invalidates 2000 years of moral teachings - it means the word of God is not infallible and it completely invalidates the Church from the ground up. There is zero scripture saying the practice of homosexuality on any level is accept and many saying it is a disordered act and a sin.
I don't think they made any changes regarding homosexuality, but you're being presumptuous anyways. If the church is wrong about homosexuality it just means that people are infallible and we have a chance to correct a long standing error. There is no condemnation against homosexuality in our Scriptures. If there was anything demonstrably wrong with homosexuality someone should have presented it by now.
The Church goes off Scripture, the word of God, Even Jesus spoke out against such a thing. I can pull up over a number of condemnations against the practice of homosexuality. You all just choose to ignore it since it doesn't fit a secular and sinful narrative. Have you never read Romans, Matthew, Jude and Hebrews are just four I can rattle off the top of my head.
Every argument for the acceptance of the practice of homosexuality has always been from two places: Secular and the idea that people's feelings are over God's own laws.
Ah, you seem to misunderstand what homosexuality is. It is an inborn and unchangeable orientation. Like someone can be left-handed, ambidextrous, or right-handed; dark skinned, light skinned, or somewhere in between; like olives or dislike olives.
That's really never addressed in the bible, because the bible was condemning idolatry and exploitative sex. Those don't have any more to do with homosexuality than with heterosexuality.
This seems great to me, where are the Catholic comments about it though?
All over r/Catholischism
Is that a joke, or just a really funny typo?
I'm really disappointed that isn't a real sub...
Lol @ schism
