Ben Spies on twitter thinks Marc was intentionally slowing up at PI as well, but he also thinks Rossi intentionally hit Marquez at Argentina.

There's no way the Argentina incident was on purpose. If he out braked himself into a corner a-la the "ambition outweighed your talent incident", then I'd be inclined to agree. As for Marquez sandbagging. I don't think for one minute he was. That last lap was just something godly.

If only we had an ex-MotoGP rider to weigh in on the subject. :)

Who cares about ex MotpGP riders? I want to see Ja Rule weigh in on this one.

Rossi absolutely hit Marc on purpose. One of the passes Marc did to Rossi was basically the same thing only Marc didn't hit Rossi.

GTFO, Rossi's tire was in front, it becomes Marc's responsibility to yield. They don't have mirrors, he had absolutely no way of knowing which side Marc would be on. Also, in Ariel shot, Rossi was dead center on racing line, no sign he deviated to "hit" Marc.

These two could totally be friends when they weren't in competition, but now that Rossi is competitive with Marquez, that isn't gonna remain the case.

This is interesting to watch, because it seems to have thrown the Rossi die-hards for a loop. How do you react when your hero throws down some serious allegations out of left field?

I just responded to a post where they claimed it was to deflect heat from Iannone. Good guy Valentino.

Trying to win the 2015 title, Rossi is battling on and off the track. He has now added backstory to the drama that includes Laguna Seca, 2013, when Marquez did to him what he’d done to Casey Stoner in 2008. He has accused Marquez of action like a child, spitefully trying to help Lorenzo only to prevent Rossi from wining another title. He has questioned the story that young Marc Marquez idolized Rossi and had posters of the Italian up on his wall. He has called out Marquez’s character.

Recognizing Rossi is the king of mind games, I find this exceedingly distasteful (I really thought he was joking in the PC, but lap charts and Italian interviews says he is not joking). I have no issue with Rossi saying he thought Marquez was sand bagging, but taking it this far: accusing him of lying about his boyhood idol (like almost every rider under 25 in the paddock didn't look up to Rossi) and harboring grudges for years?

That's all to sell a story that makes him look like the poor, down-trodden waif. So, while at the same time as he says so many people on social media are sad, he starts spinning a narrative designed to appeal to exactly that type of fan.

I hope Marquez shows Rossi what it means for MM to screw with him. I was really on the fence for the championship. As an old guy myself, there was definitely a charm about having another old guy kicking ass in the championship, but, seeing Rossi acting more like a spoiled brat, I've now decided who I want to see win.

The spiteful, immature part of me might experience some amount of glee if MM managed to accidentally take out Rossi, but the mature part really doesn't want that to happen. I just want to watch good racing.

Don't even...

I would be pissed if that really happened. And horribly disappointed by what would be a nasty denouement to a season of unbelievable action.

I'm new to MotoGP and Rossi, but I'm kind of with you there (ignoring the "take out Rossi" part).

I liked Rossi because he always seemed happy, generally positive guy. Sometimes shit doesn't work out but he has a good attitude towards it and doesn't go pinning the blame on someone else.

The whole Marquez "is picking on me" thing has changed that image for me. I mean, sure you can think that, possibly even approach Marquez about it, but to publicly announce it is really petty in my opinion.

Maybe I've only seen the good sides of Rossi until now.
