Consummate
I walk along a road I've tred before
The pleasures of yesterday still loom overhead
The incessant wheel churns constantly
It turns day into night and spurs us one step closer to our consummation
On the wall, cast in doubt my regret replays repeatedly for all to see
The blood drips from my fingertips and I know now
It was I who was wrong
There is definitely something missing from this poem, does anyone have any insight into what it might be? That said this is one of my favorite ones that I've written recently. I was thinking of adding the line "spinning in a never-ending cascade" after "the incessant wheel churns constantly" but I felt that it didn't really add much. Perhaps another line in the same place?
