Soul collateral

I beat her 'til but ash remained
I left her bound and gagged and chained
I buried her deep underground
Yet still she follows me around

I blinded her, she couldn't see
Yet visions she still brings to me
I took her hands, she couldn't touch
Yet at my soul I feel her clutch

I tore the tongue clean from her mouth
Yet still I hear her crying out
I crippled her, she couldn't walk
Yet close behind I feel her stalk

I took her heart, her brain, her ears
Yet still she feels and thinks and hears
I took all that she had before
I knew from me she took much more

She took all that her lair could hold
The more I fought the more she stole
Each time that I denied this thief
I breathed new life into my grief
