Respect Alexander Anderson, the Bayonet Priest [Hellsing]

Kiss the son lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, though his wrath be kindled but a little.

---

Alexander Anderson is a Catholic priest and monster hunter in the employ of the Vatican's secret 13th division, The Iscariots. A devout Catholic, he serves the Lord and the Vatican above all else, though this doesn't stop him questioning or outright opposing his superiors.

---

HU = Hellsing Ultimate, a faithful adaptation of the manga. There are a number of high end feats exclusive to the anime. Where I've written HU only the feat is either missing or quite different in the manga.

---

Strength

• Pins Alucard, butchers him

• Trades blows with Alucard

• Cleaves through a vampire

• Slices a vampire apart

• Throws a bayonet into glass that survived a drop from a helicopter.

• Whips a big exploding chain at Alucard's familiars

• Carves through Alucard's ghouls

---

Speed/Agility

• Ambushes Alucard and Seras: HU, Manga. The holy bayonets severely harm vampires, and the barrier prevents them from escaping.

• Throws a bayonet, HU only

• Lots of bayonets

• Cuts off Alucard's arms, HU only

• Teleports with pages, again. Generally an entry or escape mechanism

• Gets the drop on Alucard with pages: HU, Manga

• Saves Integra

• Throws a lot of bayonets

• Fights "Count" Alucard, forcing him to pull out his guns: HU 1, 2

• Jumps through explosions

---

Durability/Regeneration

• Recovers from Alucard's .454 Casull

• Regenerates from more bullets

• Takes bullets from Integra's guards: HU, Manga

He seems to have his durability upgraded after that encounter

• Tanks assault rifle bullets: HU, Manga

• Attacks Alucard, wounded by the Jackal but not by the .454 Casull. HU

• Fights with an arm in tatters after being wounded by the Jackal: HU, Manga

---

Helena's Nail

One of the Vatican's most prized artifacts, Helena's Nail was used in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. When Anderson pierces his heart with it, thorns overtake his body and he comes a Monster of God.

• The thorns replace parts of his body, regenerating even from the Jackal

• Charges Alucard, regenerating from his attacks, HU only

• Stops a bullet from the Jackal: HU, Manga

• Hits Alucard, burns his army: HU, Manga

• Restrains True Vampire Seras

• Alucard manages to overpower the vines and destroy the heart: HU, Manga
