To You Who Suffer
I write in Spanish, but I will post my translation. Feedback/Suggestions appreciated!
To You Who Suffer
Not even a blink
For the eternal eyes
Of the universe:
Our whole existence,
Our carnal history,
Our lives not a verse,
In the never-ending poem.
Like Sisyphus, we suffer, we survive,
Struggling against the rock of life,
That heavy weight we share,
That painful sentence
That lived is served.
So suffer! Invite Death
As you would an old friend,
For if we are lucky
From this world
We'll soon depart.
Our lives are beating
Faced with ravenous Death,
Our lives are beating
With passion,
With violent blood that screams,
Lamenting the finite pulses:
Renewed, invariably,
Silenced, unalterably,
Renewed, untiringly.
Not even a blink
For the eternal eyes
Of the universe,
Our lives not a verse
In the never-ending poem.
A Quien Sufre
No ha pasado ni un parpadeo
Para los ojos eternos del universo:
La existencia total
Nuestra historia carnal
Nuestras vidas ni un verso
En el poema intemporal.
Como Sisifo sufrimos, sobrevivimos,
Luchando con la piedra de la vida
Esa piedra pesada que compartimos,
Esa pena dolida que vivida es vencida.
Que sufres! Que invites la muerte
Como si fuera un amigo querido,
Por si tuviéramos la suerte,
Del mundo ya hubiéramos ido.
Nuestras vidas son latidos
Frente la muerte hambrienta,
Nuestras vidas son latidos
De pasión, de sangre violenta
Que grita, lamentando los pulsos finitos
Con su ritmo inmutable:
Renovado, invariable.
Silenciado, inalterable,
Renovado, incansable.
No ha pasado ni un parpadeo
Para los ojos eternos del universo,
Nuestras vidas ni un verso
En el poema intemporal.
