The curtain's bleached and sun crawls underneath
it's a bit of an all over the place piece, i started off with the intention of it being about my home and it was for the most part, but then i just went off on a tangent about eating sea gulls eyes.
as always any feedback is greatly appreciated and do tell me if its all a bit too weirdly worded and formatted.
there's slugs climbing the walls
mould on the back door
nothing is clean here
especially not i
the curtain's bleached
and sun crawls underneath
despite how i try
mucha adorns the walls
along with scrawls
and wise words i've heard;
do not fear the dead sailors souls
do not speak to the wolves in the walls
the cracks in the floorboards show
oily dark dripping and flowing
tiny night rivers that run below
seeking with surreptitious intent
to pass through our home
seek not death by the waters edge
see through sea gulls eyes
by plucking them out
sucking on the pupils until
it falls apart in your mouth
like slow cooked meat
fresh and steaming on your plate
each night i talk and they howl
my goblet of hemlock,
so much more tempting
this false tooth filled with cyanide
seems inviting,
a jelly baby
or fruit pastille perhaps?
don't look,
just pop it in your mouth
