Can't remember name of movie, help? Doomsday/apocalyptic movie

Watched first half of a movie about 10 years ago where I remember it was about some kind of air contamination in a big city and the main character and his family have to survive in his house and try to reduce air circulation.

I don't remember what happens after that but I think he has to move out because the police are killing everyone or something like that.
