83 v.s. 87 - Who wins?

Speculation

Ah, yes, the much debated topic in the franchise as of now. Some people think that what is shown in the minigames in FNAF 4 takes place in 1987, showing the Bite of 87'. However, some others think it's 1983 instead. Both sides have some evidence to support them, so let's go through the evidence step-by-step.

Bite of 83' Evidence

  1. TV - The most common piece of evidence that people use for this being the Bite of 83' is on the TV in the minigames. If you scroll your mouse over the TV, a screen shows up that says "Fredbear and Friends: 1983". Some people speculate this to be telling us that the game takes place in 1983, while others think it's just the year the cartoon was created.

  2. Head Crushed - Another piece of evidence for the Bite of 83' theory. In the minigame that plays after Night 5, the child's head gets crushed. However, the Bite of 87' states that the victim lost its frontal lobe, instead of getting their entire head crushed.

  3. Dying/Living - The Bite of 87' states that the victim SURVIVED the dilemma, while in FNAF 4, the child dies from the incident.

  4. Walking During the Day - As we can clearly see in the minigame, Fredbear is not moving around the building when the incident happens. Phone Guy states in FNAF 1, that they used to be able to walk around during the day until the Bite of 87' occurred. Of course, this evidence could also be supporting the 87' theory.

Bite of 87' Evidence

  1. Toys - In the minigames in FNAF 4, you will find Mangle in one of the rooms in the house, as well as a girl with what looks like to be mini versions of the toy animatronics. People state that this is because that the toy animatronics already exist, meaning that this takes place in 1987.

  2. Sister Location - Since the toy animatronics exist, the location we see in FNAF 4 could be the sister location that Phone Guy was talking about in FNAF 2.

  3. Teasers - Scott has been teasing us about the Bite of 87' before FNAF 4 came out, telling us that the one who caused the bite will be revealed.

  4. Walking During the Day - As we can clearly see in the minigame, Fredbear is not moving around the building when the incident happens. Phone Guy states in FNAF 1, that they used to be able to walk around during the day until the Bite of 87' occurred. Of course, this evidence could also be supporting the 83' theory.

Make sure to comment down below if I missed anything.

With all of this evidence in mind, how can we tell which one is the truth? That is for the community to decide. Which side to I stick with? I used to be supporting the Bite of 83' theory, but after I thought about things for a bit, I now support the theory that this is 1987. Which side do you choose? Make sure to leave some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism if you wish.
