The Drunk's Confession

The door was closed, but I barged in,
And, wishing to undo my sin,
I clasped my hands and quickly kneeled:
"Please! All I want is to be healed!
Can you not grant me expiation
Should I forgo regurgitation?"
I waited, but, unto my grief,
I felt no comfort or relief.
What could I do? I bowed my head
And wishing God that I were dead
I gave it up, that ghastly whole,
Into the waiting toilet bowl.
