"And Waves Are Crashing"

When silence turns to noise, as hearts become stone,
When ice begins to crack, as fires begin to rage,
And death will want to reap each skull and each bone
With greatest energy, to act upon the stage.

An echo will resound and a drop will ripple,
As brothers and sisters, sons and daughters
Peck and claw like crows, leaving all crippled,
Making vacant forests, making tainted waters.

Nights are dawning and days are falling
And lights are fading and waves are crashing
And winds are rushing and fears are crawling
And eyes are watching and mouths are hushing.

A pillar of cloud, a pillar of fire, 
To be led safely past man's desire.
A bed of grass, a blanket of snow,
To feel, to love, to heal, to know.
