The Balancing Act
All I can feel is the desire to die
My mind screams and tells terrible lies
Convincing my soul to abandon all hope
How much longer can I balance on this shaking tight rope?
Others have fallen to seductive temptation,
It lingers in thoughts and destroys motivation.
My voices rage louder than any of the others.
“YOU’RE WORTHLESS, HOPELESS, WHY DO YOU BOTHER?”
One day I realize there is no end in sight,
I close my eyes and pray for a glimmer of light,
A path which leads away from my strife,
So I step off the rope and put an end to my life.
