[EVENT] Interruptions
Torghard was in the Merman's palace, in the old maesters tower. He'd organised administrative documents before for Alaric, but he never enjoyed it. There was no maester however, and so Torghard would have to do. Fucking maester. First he takes Walton from us, then he leaves me with this shit. Torghard had never really been that good with administration. He could write well enough, but he did not relish it as some men did; and his hot headedness often left him without the patience or tact to deal with issues appropriately. He did have a way with birds though. Granted he preferred hawks and falcons, but ravens weren't so bad either. He understood what many men did not; they were wild creatures at heart, and they did not need to be overly pampered. They were in many ways simple creatures, like him, happy enough with somewhere dry and warm to roost, food in their bellies, and the occasional scratch. A raven had come in last night with a message, but he hadn't bothered to read it yet, as he had so much other shit to sort through.
The contexts of half these bloody letters are already over he thought rummaging through draws for a bloody inkwell. As he did, another small black raven landed in the window. Caw Caw Caw it rasped looking around greedily.
Torghard stopped what he was doing gave the bird a quick scratch and put it in its cage. He removed the message, and tossed in a handful of corn kernels, if a little carelessly; sending kernels everywhere and causing all the other ravens to caw in triumph or jealousy as stray kernels entered their cage or missed.
Torghard threw the message on the other and continued with his duties.
He'd finally sorted the paper work into manageable piles, time for a well deserved drink! he thought as he poured himself a glass of rum. As he mulled over the drink; he remembered the two messages he had yet to read. Combined with the drink, this ought to be the dull reading material that will send me straight to sleep. He read both messages, hmph bloody Southerners. He finished his drink and sought out to find Serr Havel; he needn't bother Wyman at this hour.
