Nothing in my taskbar works. (Asus Q400A)

After my the most recent update, nothing in my task bar works except for app icons and multi task view. I've had Windows 10 for a while now, and my machine came with windows 8. (Asus Q400A)

Windows key on keyboard and icon do not bring up the menu. (Windows key + tab still works) Search windows function does not show flashing cursor, text input, and does not respond after entering text (that doesn't show) and hitting enter. Left and right clicks don't work on: Battery, WiFi, Messages.

Any ideas? I tried to contact Microsoft support but kept getting some weird error message.
