Wooops....need cover story/cover up tricks/quick fix and/or miracle

I was doing the dishes, holding a knife and all of a sudden I kind of cut myself in my neck and wrist. Nothing deep or horrid but very very visible. I honestly feel I look foolish and I have never felt so ashamed. Today I wore a turtle neck, which seemed to work, but the scars are pretty high in my neck and people did notice. Fortunately I have a cat I blame, but I'm not sure that's convincing....

Any tips, tricks, cover stories, make-up tips you may have are very very welcome. Thanks!
