This is a wildly over asked; I'm here to answer both why this happens and how to solve it.

1. Why it happens. For some reason, Apple had the brilliant idea while making OS X and Text Edit to have their "Return" key give a different value rather than what every other program ever expects for "Enter." Think of it like this: Every key on your keyboard has a value (0-9, a-z, A-Z, special characters like !@#$, Space, etc.); On Windows and most other OSs, the enter key gives code 13. OS X gives a different value for their Return Key.

2. How to fix it. Use an online text editor like https://repl.it/languages/lua then export it where you need.
