Quick question about ssri's and 5htp

I've been prescribed 10 mg escitalopram for my anxiety which i started experiencing 3 weeks after mdma consumption. It has been 4 days since i started taking them daily, but the thing is, i have a ssri background and i dont really want to become a nonfeeling cold hearted guy as i used to be so i decided not to take them any longer and tbh i don't believe it is gonna help me either. My only problem is anxiety related chest pains. I've ordered 5htp and will start using it. I am exercising daily and have a very tough finals coming up. I believe 4 days is not enough for ssri's to build up on my nerve system and hope that it will not interact with 5 htp and cause a serotonin syndrome. How long should i wait just to be sure? I read that half life of escitalopram is 36 hours.
