A friend of mine was raped five years ago - help needed
Hey everyone, I created this account specifically for this. I have been meeting a girl for a couple months. We don't consider each other girlfriend and boyfriend yet, but we really enjoy being with each other. From the very begining I felt something weird about her. She is super confident in a social environment but she can become vulnerable/weaker very fast in more intimate situations. As I know another good friend who has been raped I think it might have helped me to think about the fact that this new girl had been raped at some point in her life. After the first date, I said to myself "This girl is amazing. But somehow I'm sure she has been raped". I didn't know why I thought this. Some time ago, we were having sex. We had already has sex before (once), but this time at some point I noticed something weird with her. I stopped immediatly. She was almost crying. I had already mentioned indirectly to her that I had a friend very similar to her, and that friend had been raped. I said this because I wanted her to confirm me this. So this time, she asked me if I remembered that conversation and told me she had been raped and that sex can bother her because of this trauma. She was raped about 5 years ago. And I was only the second person getting to know this. She didn't want me to worry but I made her understand that I would help. I would like advice on a couple of things. First, I'm thinking of making her try to open herself about this. I think that only by digesting and talking about this trauma will she ever get over it. She has been waiting for it to go away alone, but its been 5 years. Another thing, she has never been able to achieve an orgasm after the rape, because she has some sort of a mental barrier during sex - she can't and hasn't reached orgasms in 5 years. So she basically has sex to please the partner, but I can't deal with that. I am literally lost and I know you might be too. If you've seen or dealt with a similar situation please help me.
