Ab Hypertrophy?

Hi guys! I'm trying to figure out what the best ab routine would be to promote hypertrophy.

I'm nearly done with my second round of P90X, and I have been ab ripper x three times per week since the start. I've made a nice amount of progress, but I have heard the routine doesn't really promote hypertrophy. I'm looking into two alternatives:

  1. P90X Plus's ab core plus routine

or

  1. This workout, which u/Forever2Wheels told me about:

Weighted Crunches - 20# 25# 30# 25# Hanging Leg Lifts - 10x 10x 10x So the weighted crunches reps go 15 / 12 / 8 / 8 with the last two being a drop set. For the hanging leg lift, I keep my legs straight and do 10 very slow lifts while trying to minimize swinging by using my core. After the set above then I wrap up with 40 Russian Twists with 20#.

Would either of these routines allow me to have more defined abs than with P90X's ab ripper? I plan on doing it with the Bodybeast program. I know it might not be as good as going to a gym, but I like to work out at home.

edit: This is where I am at now. I'm looking for a routine to follow more so than focusing on bodyfat
