Question about Bernier's conditioning stint

Obviously if he goes down and wins a bunch and plays well that's good. My question is what's next for him and the Leafs if he goes down and gets lit up or let's in a bunch of soft goals?

Can management send him back down for another stint if he sits as backup for a while to try once more to get rid of this funk? I have no idea what the rules are for how often or how many times a player can do that
