Some Info Regarding High Impact Year 2 Scout Rifles in PVP
So I like the high impact Scout Rifle archetype for PVP...
I did bit of research and thought you guys might be interested in what I found out:
There is one Scout that can kill in Body + Head + Head, that is the Jade Rabbit due to its damage boost for precision shots after a body shot. It can also kill with Head + Body + Head, but NOT Head + Head + Body. It has a very low stability, but does come with Zen Moment, high aim assist and very high recoil direction to offset this.
After that there are 3 Legendary Year 2 Scouts that can kill in 3 x headshots - Cocytus, Last Extremity and Colovance's Duty.
Cocytus is the pick of the bunch with the highest stability and aim assistance.
Last Extremity has one advantage over Cocytus - the recoil direction is more vertical - this makes it easier to control the recoil, however the stability is lower, so unless you roll with Zen Moment, I can't recommend this over Cocytus - even with it, I'd say it was still close as Cocytus AA is much higher (nearly double).
Colovance comes in with the longest range out of the three which is pretty much negligible for Scouts at the range that most of us will be using them. It has the lowest stability out of the three, and its aim assist sits between the two others, but closer to Last Extrem than Cocytus.
You can see the stats here (base(min/max) values shown - note to obtain max/min you will have to use particular perks/sights):
| Name | Stability | Recoil Direction | Aim Assist |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jade Rabbit | 24(24/34) | 100 | 75(75/85) |
| Cocytus | 44(27/78) | 60 | 39(39/44) |
| Last Extremity | 36(19/70) | 80 | 21(21/26) |
| Colovance's Duty | 29(15/74) | 76 | 26(26/31) |
All stats from Planet Destiny.
Hope this helps you choose between these awesome Scout Rifles! With the right perks to increase stability they can become incredibly destructive to an accurate guardian in the Crucible.
