[Question] Massive battery drain by mobile.softwareupdated - safe to upgrade to Pangu 1.2 or use iCleaner?

Today, I noticed my iPhone screen was unusually warm and that my battery drained excessively fast. Using DetailedBatteryUsage, I determined that mobile.softwareupdated (the software update daemon) was causing this battery drain by a huge margin (57% drained in a couple hours).

I have held off on upgrading to Pangu 1.2 from Pangu 1.1 because there seemed to be tons of people getting BLOD (and, yes, many people were misdiagnosing but still enough supposed BLODs that they stopped counting after 25 [https://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/3qeyuo/update_pangu_90x_untether_version_12/?sort=new]).

Now that I'm having this issue, I know of two ways to fix it: upgrade to Pangu 1.2 or somehow disable the daemon with iCleaner. Is it generally accepted as safe to upgrade to Pangu 1.2 now or should I use iCleaner? Thanks.
