Girl doesn't want to give out number?

I matched with a really cute girl on tinder about a week ago. She actually messaged me first and was consistently replying to me with huge paragraphs about 1-2 hours after messaging her. She seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me, using lots of hahaha's and smileys, all the tell tale signs that a girl likes me usually. And she lived 1 mile away! After exchanging messages for a while I asked for her number saying I just don't get on the app all that much and suddenly she's a ghost. No response in 48 hours? The thing is i really can't just pick up conversation on tinder with her anymore after my last comment about not getting on much. Sucks because I thought we had a connection. Any way I could approach salvaging this?
