My Journey through Hard Mode
So I've done normal mode like 12 times already, I know how to do all the fights without any issues. Taking gaze, using the aura during the warpriest, can do all the different angles for the daughters fight, can run the relic and do every role in the Oryx fight but how does that transition to hard mode? Simple, apparently no one wants you. I'm 306 light trying to get myself as high as possible to make sure I was ready as possible for hard mode. I found a group on LFG with a friend of mine and they were good guys. One of them are experienced and was able to tell us what was different which really wasn't much different.
Everything was going well, ran through the jumps no problem and did the totems easily as usual. We decided to do the challenge mode way for the warpriest and did it easily on the second run. I got myself higher and higher in light level as we went through, did golgoroth on the third shot once we had established that I would distract golgoroth. Got even better gear at this point, I was 310 light now.
Then two people had to leave because of work, one just left because of whatever. Then we found 3 more people. Trying to do the daughters fight became hard and dumb because the people were had come in said they didn't want to have people who never completed hard mode before and were being a bunch of assholes. First of all, they kept running to the middle platform and standing there while letting adds kill them before the relic runner got the brand.
Of course they got killed, of course they didn't listen when we explaining it to them. We had our war of curse words, my friend wound up leaving because of those idiots and I wound up leaving too with a sore taste in my mouth. Took an hour break and looked up a group on LFG who let me in. I never said it was my first time running hard mode and we did the daughters(giggity) quickly and finished off oryx in that very same run. I ran relic, they called things out, got my loot and went off a happy man.
I'm Tl;dr: Some of you guys are not very nice but some of you are very good people who know what you're doing and you should be commended.
