Resource for getting to know classic amp tones?

I was wondering if such a thing exists online. People talk all the time about "yeah that's that cranked fender tweed sound" or "it's that classic JCM saturation" or "he's getting an AC-30ish tone" etc. and basically I am discovering that I'm embarrassingly behind on my "tone repertoire," shall we say.

Assuming that there are some classic flagship amplifiers among the infinite possibilities, the way there are a few classic flagship guitars (e.g. Strat, Tele, Les Paul) among the millions, is there any kind of writeup or video series or something that compares and contrasts them? One can search through gear demos on youtube, but let's be honest, a lot of them suck and don't control for variables like instrument used and setting options to make them useful for audio people. And obviously I would go out and buy all these vintage amps to get to know them personally, but I'm not anywhere close to the right tax bracket.

Any ideas?
