Perspective on players and injuries
This piece posted on r/nfl made it apparent that many of the players we criticize (Flowers, Weddle, O line) may be suffering from injuries that they simply cannot bounce back from without sufficient time to heal hence their poor performance.
Weddle is not the type of athlete to purposely fully not give effort simply because he doesn't want to or because of contractual issues. He's hurt, we all know it and its affecting his play.
Flowers was great last year and his decline this year isn't because he chooses not to play or put the effort in. He's hurt and has been most of the season. He is likely to have healed a bit more which is why he had a much better game vs. the Jaguars on Sunday.
Butler...no excuses for this guy...I honestly think he just doesn't want to play.
I could be wrong but the article sure lends some perspective.
