Reckless Speeding Ticket (Fairfax, VA)
A couple of days ago, I received a reckless speeding ticket on I-66. I went 83 on a 55. This is my second offence but I was never convicted for my first offence that occurred in August. My first offence was dismissed in exchange for attending an 8 hour driver safety course. Checking my driving record, I have a +5 point record because of the class. I am wondering what will happen to me when I attend the hearing at a Fairfax court. I cannot afford a lawyer so I plan to plead guilty for the offence. What I am asking is, what are the chances for my offence to be reduced to a simple speeding ticket. At the time of the incident, there was no crash or injury involved. To those who will criticize me, yes I do deserve this punishment for committing this offence again but I received my license in June and I am still learning the habits of the road. I am reckless and now I truly know that I will never go past five the speed limit. I am honestly taking the steps to never speed recklessly. Please help me, and God bless.
