Communicating between loops
I'm trying to communicate between two loops the first loop runs a timer and needs to have a way to tell the other loop that it is time to do begin performing a sequence of actions. However the second loop Is more complex and has a lot of steps at one point within a couple of VI's it will wait for the go ahead, preferebly a string or enum to begin.
I'm very familiar with queues however I don't think it would be a practical or neat solution to wire one deep within this other process to send across 2 or 3 different commands.
I'm also aware of global variables but I'm trying to avoid them in search of a more eloquent or logical solution.
Would this be a good time to use a dynamic event? I've never used one and do not fully understand them but I do have access to examples of them. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
