[Plan] December Discipline Goals!
I thought it would be a good idea to encourage a place for us all to go to and post our goals for the month of December. This could help each of us stay on task, as well as be a place to help when we do fall off the band wagon, as we all do from time to time for the month.
I see that we've done something similar for the month of November, let's keep it going!
When posting please list your goals then your plan on how you are going about achieving each one.
I'll start!
My goals:
- Complete an 18 hour course I started today (Dec. 2nd)
- Continue to workout 5 days a week (currently on week 2!)
- Cut out a majority of junk food out of my diet
- write at least 5,000 words for each book idea I currently have
- Reach AT LEAST 2 books by the end of the month
My Plan:
Goal 1: With the course, there are currently around 87 lessons, so I plan to complete 10 lessons a day, as well as reviewing what I have learned from the day before. This should take me a little over a week to complete. The total course is about 18 hours. By the end of it I will then spend time reviewing what I have learned, and form a new goal to further progress my knowledge in the subject.
Goal 2: I have a work our regime in place, and have been at it for about 2 weeks now. I have it written up on my calendar, and plan to go to the gym as early as possible to get it done to continue my day, while I have the most energy. While some days it will not be possible to go to the gym in the morning, I will force myself to get it done after work. I've been good on keeping with routine of it and it has slowly become a feeling as something I want/must do each day, which is great!
Goal 3: All starts with shopping for the correct foods, and eating right. With thanksgiving past, I can focus on eating healthy, and cutting out most of the junk that I would have eaten previously. Watching my macros this time as well!
Goal 4: Writing each and every day, trying to push anywhere from 500 to 1,000 words.
Goal 5: Read before bed, at least 5 nights a week. I've cut down on phone time while laying down in bed, which has helped with sleep. I don't always fall asleep right away, and do get engrossed in novels I read.
Edit 1:
I've come up with an idea about check points! Throughout this month we can all come back once a week and post on our progress and how we are doing (though feel free to come back and post as much as you'd like about your progress!). It would look something like this:
Saturday: 1st Checkpoint: December 5th 2nd Checkpoint: December 12th 3rd Checkpoint: December 19th 4th Checkpoint: December 26th
You would write up on the progress of your goals thus far, reflect on what you have accomplished, where you feel you are lacking, and how you are going to fix any issues as well as how you are going to continue on your journey of accomplishing those goals!
This can help keep each of us on task (as long as you stay committed), and be able to take a more hopefully honest, realistic look at where you have started this month. Sometimes writing it out helps you understand what you are doing and if it is truly helping or hindering you reach your goal.
What are your goals? Share away!
If there is anything you'd like to add to enhance this post, let me know!
