summoning help

i have been playing through the game with 2 of my friends together and we have been able to summon fine now after we got to dragon shrine we can no longer summon each over anywhere

-we all have around 3.8 sm

-all in the sun covenant

-tried name engraved rings

-unblocked our ports

we can now only summon as shades yet if we out our summon signs down people can summon us as phantoms.

we just cant find each over we ascended bonfires, areas with boss still in we just cant summon via phantoms at all
