I'm fucking pissed and saddened by a top post on r/all
The top post on r/food is an imgur album of 3 pigs, Bricks, Sticks and Straw. The poster is a butcher, and the first 7 pictures detail their happy pig lives before they were killed. The images are extremely graphic and harrowing, and normally I'm used to it, but something about the grotesque callousness of someone naming a happy, playful, intelligent loving creature and then posting it's decapitated head really disgusted me today more than usual.
I can't help but think of people like this as monsters. Soulless, heartless monsters. To see that life and say, 'We love them and treat them as pets. They ARE pets... Right up until they become food' is simply the action of a madman in my book.
Here's a link to the post in question, but be aware it is depressing, violent and NSFL. I mostly just wanted to rant a little since few times in life, let alone Reddit, am I instantly overcome with a profound hatred for someone so suddenly. People like this make the world seem like a dark place.
pre-emptive edit: I know r/food is not a vegan subreddit, and I don't subscribe there. It was a top post on r/all
