Help with making text appear

This is probably a noob question, because i'm a noob, but i'm trying to make text or an image appear instantly, no transition or anything, just right in the middle, instantly...

The only thing i came up with was making the opacity 0 and then making it 100 but the transition ruins it, how can i remove the transition?
