December 2nd, 2015: The best day I've had in a while during the battle with ADHD
So scrolling through this sub for a little over three months now, I continue to see people posting things that are just a bummer to read. While these redditors have my full support and understanding (because we all have bad days), I wanted to post something upbeat and positive. Today was absolutely one of the best days I've had in my years of combating ADHD; for some reason I just felt "on," and my productivity shot through the roof. Here is my story.
I woke up at 8:00am already 15 minutes late for school, so today began with life giving me a swift and just kick in the nuggets. Jumped in and out of the shower, threw on whatever clothing that didn't smell like Rob Ford's ass crack, and sped down the street to get to school. Math Class.
Now let me tell you, I despise this specific course with everything in my being; not because I'm inept in mathematics but because I'm typically very disorganized, the teacher is an arse, and I usually spend the entire class daydreaming about funny nicknames to mix Tom Hanks and Donald Trump (Donghold Wanks was one I was particular fond of), but wow. I made that class my personal bitch. Notes, answering questions, immersing myself in the material -- it was incredible. The class ended as I was feeling pretty proud of myself, and since I had the rest of the day off I figured why not keep this momentum going?
Car: cleaned. Room: cleaned. Errands that have needed to be run for weeks that the procrastination-devil on my shoulder has told me not to do: done. This might be a normal day for some people, but my god remembering to get those 3 month old coffee mugs out of my car was a huge success in my eyes.
The day is only part-way over (still have another 7-8 hours before hitting the sack), and yet I feel like I've conquered the Mount Everest of my mind. I hope I can figure out what factors went into this day being such a success, because I've hit cloud 9 and I don't want to come down. And for those of you struggling with anything on life's spectrum of bullshit, just remember that you, too, will have a day like mine very soon.
Tl;DR My day full of productivity and pride was phenomenal, and I wanted to share that with r/ADHD!
