Wood processing tools?
I carry a gerber machete jr.
Sometimes I find myself using it rather like a hatchet. Most people don't realize this but a machete can be used like a hatchet. Yes it doesn't have the heft. But it makes up for that with thinner sharper blades, and a lighter weight. Add to that a saw on a back and a rubber grip that can facilitate chopping for long periods of time, and you can do a lot of wood processing with a tool that weighs under a pound.
But obviously a machete will never be as a great as a hatchet.
Are there any tools that weight 1-2 lbs tops that can process a lot of wood?
What about the pocket chain saws? If they work as well as they appear, they would be perfect.
Foldable saws probably won't do it for me. The saw on the back of my mini machete has a blade length as long as most foldable saws. And if I wanted a bigger saw I would probably just buy a bigger machete.
