How the pronunciation of a made up word ruined Final Fantasy for me forever

I loved most of the Final Fantasy games, all the way to FFX, with the exception of FFVIII. I didn't play any new ones for years, then my girlfriend got FFXIII. I thought it was okay, better than VIII at least. The battle system was kind of shitty, but oh well. Then I got to the part where they say "eidolon." That ruined it for me. I had seen the word in a previous game and thought it might be pronounced ED-uh-lon, EYED-uh-lon, or AYD-uh-lon. But never i-DOLE-un.

Instantly every mention got louder in my brain, complete with the exaggerated Robot Chicken "retard" voice.

"HEY GUYS CHECK OUT MY I-DOLE-UN!!!! HE USES THUN-DAY-GA!!!!"

Fuckin' ruined...
