Correct Rope Pull/Tug of War?

Hey r/Crossfit,

I'm still a big newbie (started cf on my own about a month and a half ago, and recently joined a box) but after watching the recent video by Rouge Fitness "Levantadores" I had a question about rope pulling.

I haven't yet come across a WOD that involved any sort of Rope Pull that would be akin to a tug of war movement, but I was wondering if 1) anyone has come across a WOD with it and 2) What the proper technique for that would be.

I feel like it's a pretty functional movement, and the history that was involved with stone pulling in that documentary seems to suggest the same. I was in a number of tug of war matches as a kid, and no one seemed to really have any method or technique to it.

Anyone able to shed some light on this? :)
