Why is it so hard to find 70s footage of Sly performing 70s material?

Any idea why his 70s TV appearances were largely composed of performances of pre-1970 material? Outside of the occasional performance of "If You Want Me To Stay," why was the band playing cuts from Stand and A Whole New Thing in TV appearances as late as 1975, instead of material from Riot/Fresh/Small Talk?
