Is my OS SSD failing on me?
Yesterday, as I was simply watching a youtube series, my PC froze. It started with the picture freezing and I got the blue wheel as a cursor, which I was still able to move around. The sound from the playing video went on for maybe a minute or something like that, but after that it all stopped. Tried a few ctrl+alt+dels and such, but to no avail. Finally I did a hard restart, which brought me to the login screen, but again, my keyboard seemed not to work after hitting the enter key to get to the password typing page. I could still move my cursor, but nothing more.
Now, after doing a memtest which came back clean after a couple of passes, I have been trying just about every option but reformatting the SSD, and I have gotten nothing but failed repair/recover/reset procedures and such. Also, more than half the time when I try to boot now, the SSD isn't showing up in the BIOS any longer, and I get missing bootmgr errors. This seems to be especially the case after the computer has been powered for a little while.
I have read some places about performing a power cycle, but I also figured that shouldn't be the case here, since the SSD do show up in the BIOS some times. Am I on to something here? Or do my symptoms indicate that there's some other components that's failing?
Also, if I try to boot normally, I still get the same freezing at the login screen. Provided I get to boot at all.
The SSD in question is a Corsair Force Series GS
