Peeping toms in the Philippines

So my mother is living with my Grandmother (i'll call her Mimi) and her big brother (Mike), her father is in Vietnam at the time, so he isn't living with them. Anyway, the setting is the Philippines late at night, with my mother and brother trying to sleep while Mimi is doing something else.

As Mike and my mother are trying to sleep. Mimi barges through their door and tells them both to get their clothes on as fast as possible. So, if any of you don't know, the Philippines is really close to Vietnam, my grandfather is fighting in the war, and it's late at night and dark as hell, so anything could be happening, from nukes to burglars. Anyway, as they all get outside Mimi tells them all to hold hands, and to start running to a house at the other end of this long pitch black street. They get there and stay the night, and it turns out Mimi was being spied on by peeping toms while she was getting undressed, now I can't imagine why, since, quite frankly, my grandmother doesn't seem attractive at all to me now, but according to my mom, she was really beautiful back then and was actually a model back then.
