What 'The Sandwich Club' is and why you should set one up.
Hello I live in England, I'm 17 and I'm in my first year of college (third year of high school for you Americans). At the start of the year around September a guy named Michael wasn't happy with the food that was being served, I mean it was okay but you had no idea what was going into it. This was when Michael had an amazing idea, what if he could accumulate enough people to buy all of the fillings of a sandwich along with the bread but still be able to afford it with a good price. He got his friends together and on a free lesson went to the local shopping centre and bought a range of fillings with some baguettes and rolls, got back and started making their sandwiches. The beauty of this is that as long as you have a enough people, around 6, you can have a sandwich with around 5 fillings but still only spend a couple pounds (or dollars once again).
After a couple months the club has reached around 20 members who all attend the club on different days. We have a Facebook page and are looking for it to become a recognised club within the school. The club is fairly known throughout the school to the point where teachers ask us what we had.
We even have rules, one being you can't buy pre-made sandwiches but if you want to set up one the rules are up to you.
If you find your lunches to be boring and you see yourself buying the same pre-made sandwich meal deal every day maybe you should consider setting one up. They can work in schools, colleges, university's, work places, anywhere. Get your friends together and have a good time appreciating a good sandwich.
