Question regarding UK Steelbook and DLC

I bought the UK steelbook version of this game however I live in the US. How does DLC for this? When I tried to enter the code provided to unlock the Battle for Jakku content it said that it was invalid. Am I totally hosed and won't be able to get DLC down the road or if I end up getting the season pass?
