[Help Please] Having graphical problems with my new monitor.

I recently bought an ASUS VG248QE 144hz monitor. I know that Terraria doesn't like 144hz, so I switched it to 60hz for testing. Things still aren't quite working. When I move, lighting gets very weird. It's like blocks and walls light up and glow when I move but then return to normal once I stop moving. Does anyone have advice? I have combed all resources I can find and nothing has fixed it.
