Read Khirbet Khizeh. Thoughts?

Not sure if this is the proper forum to ask this. (I apologize if it's not, feel free to point me in the right direction.) In my Jewish Literature course, one of the books we read was "Khirbet Khizeh," a novella written by S. Yizhar. (It was translated into English and published in the U.S. within the last several years.) For my final paper in the course, I'm writing about the controversy surrounding it when it came out in Israel.

What are your individual thoughts on the novella if you've read it? And what's the general consensus about it today, assuming there is one? Lastly, do you think that this controversy is important (or worth writing about), and why or why not?
