Newbie to facial makeup - please help :)
I figure it’s about time for me to learn how to do facial makeup. I have bought multiple products, mostly impulse buys from the Sephora checkout line, but have never really learned how to use them. I think I’m ready to start learning! What I’m looking for is an explanation on different types of products and a tutorial on how to apply (ie. what steps for each product).
I have done a bit of research and I think I have “started” to figure out the basics. I haven’t been able to find a post here with a steb-by-step guide so I’m still somewhat confused on a few things. I’m going to list out what I have learned thus far but please correct me if I am wrong or send me a link with a good tutorial!
- Step 1: primer (ie. Benefit POREfessional Face Primer)
- Step 2: BB cream/foundation/concealer - can someone please explain the differences between each of these products? Do you use all of them at the same time (ie. foundation + concealer)?
- Step 3: setting powder (ie. MUFE HD Microfinish Powder or Laurier Mercier Translucent Setting Powder)
- Step 4: contouring - highlighter, bronzer, & blush
- Step 5: setting spray (ie. MAC Fix+)
- Step 6: finishing spray (ie. Urban Decay All Nighter)
For foundation, I currently use Bareminerals Get Started Complexion Kit (powder foundation) and I spot blemishes with Bareminerals Boi-ing Concealer. However, I am thinking about adventuring into liquid foundations. Are liquid foundations more popular/better than powder foundations?
That’s it for now! Thank you for your expertise :)
